Personal Bio
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself and to tell you a little bit about me. My name is Beatriz Longoria and I would like to start by saying that I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be your child’s teacher this year. Thus far, I have had five wonderful years here at Bowie Elementary as a Second Grade Teacher and I am looking forward to many more.
On a personal note, I was born in Brownsville but I have spent most of my life away from home. Five years ago I moved down from Austin and prior to that I lived in Houston. Nonetheless, I have always loved the Valley and I am so excited to be back home. I have a wonderful husband of 29 years and four beautiful children. This year, however, I am thrilled to say that I am the grandmother to a gorgeous baby girl.
Professionally, I would like you to know that I have been a teacher for 10 years. I have taught 1st and 3rd Grade in the city of Houston and Manor Texas. Prior to that, I worked in the legal field for 10 years.
I love learning and I have a passion for teaching. I feel that it is vital to build a positive relationship with both parents and students and I view parents as partners in the learning process. As an important partner in your child’s education, I will soon be scheduling parent conferences with each of you so that we can discuss your child’s specific needs and address any concerns you may have for enhancing your child’s education. I see us as a team and am looking forward to working closely with you this year. I want to work closely with you to ensure that your child continues on a seamless transition into 2nd Grade.
Please feel free to contact me any time if you have any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss. I will make myself available to you in any way I can to help you and your child have a great year.
Sincerely,
Beatriz Longoria,
2nd Grade Teacher
